Singapore: A Place that Welcomes you like an Old Friend

My favorite destination to visit is Singapore. The first time I visited Singapore was when I was 6-year-old, with my parents. I admired how it was so architecturally advanced yet had many small ancient temples and locations. You would see these incredible skyscrapers, but then you turn off the street and there’s this beautiful old temple or charming shop house that is like a little piece of history. What I also totally loved is how green the city is. The Gardens by the Bay was probably the highlight of my visit. Wandering around those massive Supertrees which were hundred times my size and watching them wake up at nighttime was almost mystical. And then there’s the Marina Bay Sands view which was gorgeous.

One of the things that really made the whole experience better was how safe I felt the entire time.

The streets were extremely clean and well-lit, even at night, I could walk around without ever worrying. Even though Singapore was always full of activity, with the markets bustling with people running around, walking or bargaining with the shopkeepers, it was also very calm and welcoming. People there were very friendly, and they would happily offer advice or directions. It’s the sort of place that will make you feel like as if you belong there (even if you don’t).

Every time I think of my experience in Singapore, I remember how vivid and fun it was. It’s indeed a place that I’ll keep going back to because there is so much about it that is enough to make you fall in love it.
